Gear is about the tools, equipment, devices, bags, clothing, travel items, field tools, and practical objects that help support a life in motion.

This section is not about owning more things. It is about choosing useful things carefully.

Gear may include travel equipment, tech, everyday carry, all things aeronautical, writing tools, and practical items that earn their place.

Some gear is useful because it solves a problem. Some earns its place because it is dependable, repairable, packable, or simply a pleasure to use. This is where I gather notes on the things that prove their worth over time.

There is nothing listed here that I have not personally owned, used, tested, experimented with, or at the very least evaluated. I just love having the right tool for the job.

I sometimes spend hours pondering and poring over gear, attempting to uncover every nuance before I claim it as mine. And yes, even after all that, I have made the wrong choice and had to do it all over again.

And you know something funny? I do not like shopping. I just very much want to have the right thing.
